Meet our Personality of the Week: Adelaja Solomon Olusesan, a passionate teacher whose dedication to shaping young minds reflects his belief that true fulfillment comes from being faithful to one’s purpose.

Adelaja’s educational journey began at Remo Secondary School, Sagamu, where he was admitted in 1984. Although he initially planned to graduate with his classmates in 1990, certain circumstances led him to complete his studies with the 1992 class set. His determination and resilience paved the way for further academic success at Tai Solarin College of Education, now known as Tai Solarin University of Education, from which he graduated in 1996.

Driven by a sense of calling, Solomon chose a career in teaching, believing it to be more than just a profession but a divine purpose to mould and remould the lives of young people for a brighter future. Today, he serves diligently as a teacher at Emeritus Prof. T. O. Ogunlesi Model Secondary School, Likosi-Ogijo, where he continues to inspire and nurture the next generation.

Beyond the classroom, Solomon enjoys music and indoor games, hobbies that reflect his calm and creative nature. His favorite color, sky blue, mirrors his peaceful and optimistic outlook on life. When it comes to food, he has a simple yet classic favorite — rice and beans. His guiding philosophy in life is captured in his favorite quote, “Be faithful to that which exists within yourself.” This statement perfectly embodies his integrity, authenticity, and commitment to personal growth.

As a student at Remo Secondary School, Solomon developed fond memories of his time there, particularly in Fine Art, his best subject. He remembers his favorite teacher, Mr. Festus Mokwunye, with admiration and gratitude for his guidance. During his school days, he shared close friendships with Adegbite Waheed and Sokoya Oyekunle, fondly known as Payan, relationships that have stood the test of time.

Adelaja Solomon Olusesan’s journey reflects perseverance, passion, and purpose. From his days as a young student at RSS to his present role as a teacher shaping young minds, he has remained true to his calling and continues to make a meaningful impact. His story is a reminder that fulfillment comes from staying faithful to one’s purpose and inspiring others along the way.
