Discover the inspiring journey of Ogunyemi Busola Opeyemi, a proud RSSOSA alumna and dedicated teacher in Ogun State. From her early days as a quiet student to shaping young minds today, her story reflects passion, resilience, and a life of service.

Meet Ogunyemi Busola Opeyemi our Personality of the Week, a proud daughter of Ogun State, a passionate educator, and an old student of Remo Secondary School, Class of 1994–2000. Her journey from a quiet classroom note-taker to a respected teacher in the Ogun State education system is both inspiring and rooted in deep dedication to service.
Born on January 30 and happily married, Busola pursued her passion for education at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. Since 2007, she has been actively shaping young minds under the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission. She currently teaches at Remo Divisional High School, where she continues to leave a lasting impact through her unwavering commitment to students and learning.
Looking back on her days at Remo Secondary School, Busola recalls her strong dislike for mathematics, saying, "I hated mathematics with passion." Yet despite that, she was always the class writer, often found at the chalkboard from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., carefully copying notes for her classmates. Her spirit of service and reliability stood out even then. She cherishes fond memories of her best friend, Shakirat Kazeem, and still holds in high regard two teachers who deeply influenced her were Mr. Kazeem R.T. and the late Mr. Okoro, whose memory she honors with warmth and gratitude.
Outside of the classroom, Busola enjoys simple pleasures, especially her favorite meals: a well-cooked plate of jollof rice with chicken or a hearty serving of eba paired with delicious soup. She lives by powerful words that reflect her values and drive: “Be the change you wish to see in the world” and “The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.”
From the chalkboard of her school days to the classrooms she leads today, Ogunyemi Busola Opeyemi continues to embody the spirit of resilience, care, and excellence. Her story is a beautiful reminder that every note written, every lesson taught, and every young life inspired is a legacy that lasts.
