Shokunbi Adebola Semiu: Building Dreams and Designing a Beautiful World

04 Nov 2025 • RSSOSA Personality of The Week

Discover the inspiring story of Shokunbi Adebola Semiu, an architect and hotelier whose passion for design and purpose shines through his work with BSQ Concepts and FAMS Embassy Suites. From his roots at Remo Secondary School to shaping beautiful spaces across Nigeria, he embodies creativity, dedication and vision.

Meet Shokunbi Adebola Semiu our Personality for the Week, a proud son of Ogun State and an alumnus of the prestigious Remo Secondary School, Class of 1990/1995. His educational journey led him through the architectural halls of Ogun State Polytechnic, now Mapoly, where he obtained his OND, and later the Polytechnic Ibadan, where he earned his HND in Architecture.

Married and deeply grounded in his values, Shokunbi Adebola has built a career that blends creativity with purpose. As an architect and project consultant at BSQ Concepts, his passion is rooted in shaping beautiful spaces that make the world just a little better. For him, architecture isn’t just a profession; it’s a calling, a way to contribute to the beauty of the environment and leave a mark that speaks long after the concrete has set. His journey so far has been one of growth, fulfilment and quiet success.

Beyond architecture, he wears another hat proudly as a hotelier. Through FAMS Embassy Suites in Badagry, Lagos, a venture driven by a shared family vision, he has transformed design into hospitality. Every detail of the establishment reflects not just his professional skill but the warmth of his family’s dream brought to life.

When it comes to simple pleasures, Shokunbi’s favourite meal says a lot about his roots. Ebiripo with Egusi tops the list, though he admits the list of his favourites could go on endlessly. In his leisure time, he enjoys football, reading novels and travelling, finding inspiration and balance in each of these interests. His favourite colours, gold and beige, perhaps mirror his personality, refined, grounded and quietly elegant.

Thinking back to his days at RSS, his fondest memory remains the very first time he read the news on the assembly ground as a proud member of the Press Club. He remembers Mrs. Ketiku, his Chemistry teacher, with admiration and gratitude, a reminder of the educators who shaped not only his academic path but his confidence and voice.

Ask him about his best friends and he’ll smile and say, “Precious boys, if you know, you know.” It’s a phrase that carries nostalgia, brotherhood and the kind of connection that only old schoolmates can understand.

Shokunbi Adebola Semiu embodies dedication, creativity and the quiet ambition to make the world more beautiful, one structure, one dream at a time.
